Okams Racer is a newly formed contemporary dance collective based in Vancouver, BC. founded by Jenna Berlyn, Will Jessup, Ana Sosa, and Samantha Krystal, four artists with a passion for contemporary dance, choreography, cinematography and design. Existing members are, Rachel Helten, Ana Sosa, Oksana Augustine, Caroline Maccaull, and Samantha Krystral.

Okams Racer is based on the philosophical rule known as Occam’s Razor. Created by British philosopher William of Ockham (1287-1347), this rule states that the simplest explanation is usually the correct one when problem solving. The collective uses this rule when making decisions and creating new work.   Okams Racer aspires to stay relevant by conveying the emotions that may be felt individually and by society at large. They have performed their work independently at Morrow in 2022, and have been a part of 12 Min Max and the micro-digital commision through the Dance Centre in 2020 and 2021. Okams Racer recently received two residencies, one with New Works and another one with Dance West Network's Recentering Margins.

Okams Racer is a non-hierarchical collective led with fluid leadership and democratic idea curation. We work together as equals in the creative and administrative process giving suggestions and feedback, developing choreography, storyboarding, contributing to social media marketing and grant writing. Our collaborative style is unique as we try to renounce ego driven intentions by being the most authentic version of ourselves. We work in various media such as live performance, video, drawing and design.
